My name is Shruti. I am 8 years old and I live in New York with my parents and little brother. I love art and I have started making cards at home. I make these cards using rubber stamps. The exciting thing is I carve my own rubber stamps. I take my mother's help to carve the rubber stamps.
I get ideas for my stamps from many different places - henna designs, nature, symbols in different countries, textile designs and my own imagination. My card lines are named according to that; for example, NaturePrints for ideas inspired by nature, Symbols for ideas from symbols like the Adinkra symbols, Patterns for ideas from Henna designs…. and so on.
One thing I like to do is messing around with the stamps and try combining different stamps and try different color combinations. My mom used to get a bit nervous when I was really creative and experimentative, but, usually these cards are more beautiful - now my mother tries out new things too.
